A typical manufacturing process would be as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Powder ingredients, such as <strong>cetyl alcohol<\/strong> and <strong>stearic acid<\/strong>, which are sometimes pre-dried, are dispersed in the oil phase. Heating may be required to melt some ingredients.<\/li>\n<li>The active ingredients are dispersed in the appropriate phase.<\/li>\n<li>The water phase, containing emulsifiers and stabilizers such as <strong>wigam<\/strong> or <strong>carbopol<\/strong>, is prepared separately.<\/li>\n<li>Both phases are mixed to form an emulsion.
